Karachi, May 27, 2025 – In a strong display of maritime efficiency, Port Qasim reported active shipping operations for the 24-hour cycle ending Tuesday morning, May 27, 2025.
The port continues to demonstrate its strategic importance as a vital gateway for Pakistan’s trade and cargo movement, ensuring uninterrupted shipping services for importers and exporters alike.
According to details shared by the Port Qasim Authority (PQA), multiple cargo vessels were involved in active loading, unloading, berthing, sailing, and shifting activities. These operations underline the high level of coordination and logistical management at one of the country’s busiest deep-sea ports.
As of 0800 hours Tuesday, several vessels had either arrived or departed the port, carrying essential commodities including coal, LPG, soybean seed, cement, and containers. Among the key movements, M.V. GLORIA set sail from the FAP terminal carrying a massive 69,832 metric tons of soybean seed. Meanwhile, M.V. OBE LOTUS departed from M/W-II after discharging 42,300 metric tons of coal, a crucial fuel resource for Pakistan’s industrial base.
On the berthing side, the port welcomed M.V. ZJ PACIFIC at M/W-II with 40,260 metric tons of cement and M.T. PACIFIC GAS at EVTL, bringing in 5,460 metric tons of LPG. Another major addition to the terminal was M.V. VALENCE, handling container cargo at QT2-I under the management of Eastwind Shipping. These movements reflect how Port Qasim continues to be a center of active shipping activity.
Noteworthy among the vessel shifts was M.V. SAKIZAYA UNICORN, loaded with over 68,000 metric tons of soybean seed, which transitioned from the FAP berth under Ocean Services management. The smooth handling of such significant shifts illustrates the operational strength of the port.
With an increasing number of foreign and domestic vessels docking regularly, Port Qasim remains an active maritime hub supporting Pakistan’s growing economic and logistical needs. The efficient handling of cargo reflects the port’s commitment to ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining a steady flow of trade despite fluctuating market dynamics.
These active shipping operations reaffirm Port Qasim’s role as a critical player in the country’s maritime infrastructure, delivering consistent performance and adaptability in Pakistan’s competitive shipping sector.
