Port Qasim reports active shipping operations on June 10, 2025

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, June 10, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) confirmed that active shipping operations continued smoothly over the past 24 hours as of 0800 hours on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

The report reflects the steady movement of vessels at Pakistan’s second busiest port, ensuring efficient maritime logistics and trade activity.

The PQA emphasized that multiple vessels were involved in shipping activities that included berthing, sailing, and shifting of ships at different terminals. These operations are vital for maintaining the supply chain and facilitating the import and export of essential goods like containers, rice, wood pulp, palm oil, soyabean oil, and phosphoric acid.

Among the vessels that set sail were M.V. SEASPAN SANTOS, carrying containers; M.T. ASIA INSPIRE, loaded with palm oil; and M.V. CLIPPER TYNE, transporting wood pulp. These departures mark the continuation of an active shipping schedule managed by agencies like GAC Shipping and AL-Pine Marine.

On the other hand, new arrivals were recorded at the port, including M.V. VALENCE with a container consignment, M.T. NORDIC MASA transporting phosphoric acid, and M.V. ROYAL GALAXY, which brought in 27,000 metric tons of rice. These vessels were efficiently berthed with the support of experienced agents such as Eastwind Shipping and Star Shipping, further underlining Port Qasim’s capability in managing heavy maritime traffic.

Additional operations involved the berthing of chemical tankers like M.T. CHEMOCEAN LEO and M.V. GLOBAL ORIOLE, which handled critical liquid cargoes including soyabean oil. Vessels like M.V. LYRIC HARMONY were also noted to be in the process of docking at the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT).

In a key shipping maneuver, M.V. SEDRA, carrying steel plates, was shifted from one berth to another to optimize the port’s throughput and reduce congestion. Such adjustments reflect the dynamic nature of the port’s day-to-day operations and its ability to handle complex logistics efficiently.

With these developments, Port Qasim continues to play an active role in facilitating Pakistan’s maritime trade. The seamless shipping operations not only ensure timely deliveries of critical goods but also demonstrate the strategic importance of the port as a hub of commercial activity in the region.
