KARACHI: The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Tuesday released its daily shipping activity report, detailing vessel movements at one of Pakistan’s busiest seaports.

The report, updated at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PKT), provides a snapshot of shipping operations over the past 24 hours, including vessels that departed and berthed at the port. Such updates are crucial for stakeholders in the maritime, logistics, and trade sectors, offering insights into cargo handling and port efficiency.

According to the latest data, two vessels departed from the port. M.V. Propel Wisdom sailed with a consignment of coal totaling 58,551 metric tons, while M.V. Grampus Dignity departed carrying 10,041 metric tons of rice for export. These shipments highlight ongoing trade activity, particularly in energy imports and agricultural exports.

Meanwhile, several vessels arrived and berthed at Port Qasim during the reporting period. M.V. Ocean Helios docked with a cargo of 29,335 metric tons of steel coil, reflecting continued demand for industrial raw materials. In addition, M.T. Lucky Chem berthed carrying 14,340 metric tons of paraxylene, a key chemical used in the manufacturing sector.

Other vessels, including M.T. Xin Ao Tai 1 and M.V. Stephanie C, were also scheduled for berthing later in the day, indicating steady port traffic and efficient scheduling operations.

Port Qasim remains a vital hub for Pakistan’s import and export activities, handling a significant share of the country’s bulk cargo, including energy products, chemicals, and food commodities.

Maritime experts noted that consistent vessel movement and timely operations are essential for maintaining supply chains and supporting economic activity, especially amid global trade uncertainties.
