KARACHI, July 31, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Wednesday, July 31, 2024, providing an update to stakeholders on the latest maritime operations.
According to the report, four ships – Apllon-D, Elim Grace, Kouros Queen, and Butinah – berthed at the port on Tuesday. These vessels were carrying containers, palm oil, and coal, and were docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminals, and Multi-Purpose Terminal, respectively.
In addition to these arrivals, three more ships – MSC Roma, YE CHI, and Pacific Tulip – carrying containers, gas oil, and coal, arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim within the last 24 hours.
During this period, a total of nine ships were actively engaged at PQA berths. Notably, the gas carrier ‘Epic Sunter’ departed the port this morning, while three additional ships – Apollon-D, Endeavour, and Sea Luck-III – are scheduled to set sail this afternoon.
Port Qasim handled a significant cargo volume of 122,590 tonnes over the past 24 hours. This included 62,651 tonnes of import cargo and 59,939 tonnes of export cargo, transported in 2,470 containers (comprising 980 TEUs of imports and 1,490 TEUs of exports).
The outer anchorage of Port Qasim currently hosts six ships. Among them, three ships – YE CHI, Pacific Tulip, and MSC Roma – along with two more vessels, Addison and Orient Gloria, carrying gas oil, coal, and containers, are expected to berth at the FOTCO, PIBT, QICT, and PQEPT terminals, respectively, later today.
The continuous flow of maritime traffic highlights the port’s critical role in facilitating Pakistan’s trade and economic activities.
