Karachi, March 13, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its latest shipping activity report for Thursday, March 13, 2025, providing key updates to stakeholders regarding maritime operations at Port Qasim.
According to the report, Port Qasim saw significant shipping activity as six vessels—Maersk Capetown, CMA CGM La Scala, Dublin Eagle, Oasis, Bristol Trader, and Amir Gas—docked at various terminals on Wednesday. These ships were engaged in the loading and unloading of diverse cargo, including containers, rice, cement, chemicals, and LPG. The vessels berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), Multi-Purpose Terminal 1 & 2, Engro Vopak Terminal, and Sui Southern Gas Terminal, respectively.
Meanwhile, an additional three ships—Teno, Nord Utopia, and Propell Progress—arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim within the last 24 hours. These vessels are set to discharge and load cargo consisting of containers, cement, and rice.
In total, ten ships were actively operating at various Port Qasim berths in the past 24 hours. Among them, two ships, Maersk Capetown and Al-Thakhira, departed the port early Thursday morning. Additionally, four more vessels—CMA CGM La Scala, VT Queen, Toiny, and Amir Gas—are expected to set sail later in the day.
Cargo handling at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours amounted to 121,196 tonnes. This included 76,757 tonnes of imported cargo and 44,439 tonnes of export goods. The total containerized cargo stood at 4,190 TEUs, with 1,771 TEUs designated as imports and 2,419 TEUs as exports.
As of Thursday, there are currently nine ships at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, three vessels—Propell Progress, Bentley-1, and Teno—along with another container ship, ONE Recommendation, are scheduled to berth at FAP, LCT, and QICT terminals for loading and offloading rice, palm oil, and containers, respectively. Furthermore, two additional container ships, SSL Brahmaputra and Mol Presence, are anticipated to arrive at the outer anchorage by Friday.
