Port Qasim Reports Significant Shipping Activity Over 24 Hours

Karachi, February 14, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has reported a bustling shipping activity over the past 24 hours, underscoring the port’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s maritime trade. As of 08:00 hours on February 14, the port experienced significant shipping movements, with multiple vessels engaged in both import and export activities.

According to the shipping activity report, several vessels departed from the port after successfully completing their cargo operations. Among the notable departures was the M.T. Falcon Royal, which sailed out after discharging 37,398 metric tons of Motor Gasoline (MOGAS). The vessel, managed by Al-Pine Marine, utilized the FOTCO terminal for its operations. Another vessel, M.T. Katherine Kosan, departed after unloading 5,500 metric tons of Ethylene at the EVTL terminal. Additionally, M.T. Dumbledore set sail after discharging 23,000 metric tons of Palm Oil at the LCT terminal.

The shipping activity report also highlighted the arrival of new vessels to Port Qasim. M.T. AU Libra berthed at the LCT terminal to discharge 12,000 metric tons of Palm Oil. The LNG carrier M.T. Fuwairit docked at the PGPCL terminal with a substantial load of 135,121 metric tons of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). Furthermore, M.T. Khairpur arrived at the FOTCO terminal to offload 37,900 metric tons of MOGAS, reinforcing the port’s critical role in meeting the country’s energy demands.

Shipping activity at Port Qasim remains robust due to its strategic location and efficient cargo handling capabilities. The port has been consistently handling diverse cargoes, including petroleum products, chemicals, edible oils, and LNG. This ongoing shipping activity not only supports domestic supply chains but also bolsters Pakistan’s trade relations with international partners.
