Karachi, December 20, 2025 — The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) reported robust shipping activity on Saturday, reflecting steady import and export operations at one of Pakistan’s busiest seaports. The authority released its daily shipping activity update to keep stakeholders informed about vessel movements during the past 24 hours.
According to PQA, the report was updated at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time (PST) and covered the sailing, berthing, and shifting of multiple vessels carrying essential commodities and energy supplies. Several ships departed the port after completing loading and unloading operations, indicating smooth cargo handling and efficient port management.
Among the sailing vessels, oil tankers and bulk carriers transported key commodities including motor gasoline (MOGAS), soybean seed, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). These movements highlight Port Qasim’s critical role in meeting the country’s energy and food supply needs. Container ships and bulk vessels were also recorded departing from various terminals, supporting ongoing trade flows.
On the berthing side, multiple vessels arrived at Port Qasim to discharge or load cargo. These included liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, coal vessels, gas oil tankers, and container ships. The arrival of LNG and coal shipments is particularly significant, as these fuels are vital for power generation and industrial use across Pakistan. Port officials ensured timely berthing at designated terminals to avoid congestion and maintain operational efficiency.
Additionally, vessel shifting operations were carried out within the port to facilitate cargo handling. A bulk carrier transporting soybean seed was shifted between berths to optimize terminal operations and accommodate incoming traffic.
Port authorities stated that shipping activity at Port Qasim remains consistent, supported by coordinated efforts between terminal operators, shipping agents, and port management. They emphasized that regular updates help importers, exporters, and logistics providers plan their operations effectively amid growing trade volumes.
