Karachi, June 2, 2025 – Port Qasim remained a hub of maritime operations as it experienced significant shipping activity over the past 24 hours.
According to the daily report released by the Port Qasim Authority (PQA) at 0800 hours on Monday, a steady flow of vessels continued to arrive, berth, and depart, reflecting the port’s crucial role in supporting Pakistan’s trade and logistics.
The report noted a total of several vessel movements involving both imports and exports. From the berthing of tankers carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG), palm oil, and condensate to the offloading of bulk cargo such as coal and soyabean seed, the port witnessed busy operations throughout the day.
Among the vessels that set sail on June 2 were M.T. Venus 9 and M.T. Amir Gas, both carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and M.V. Star Petrel, which departed with a large consignment of coal. These movements underscore the diversity of cargo being handled and the high tempo of shipping activity at the port.
Meanwhile, berthing operations continued with vessels such as M.T. Grand Ace 1, which docked with over 41,000 metric tons of condensate, and M.T. Al Deebel, an LNG carrier, making its way to the PGPCL terminal. The container vessel M.V. Tanja also arrived, reflecting a rise in containerized cargo traffic—another sign of growing activity in trade and transport at Port Qasim.
In addition to arrivals and departures, port officials reported the shifting of M.V. Athanasia C, a bulk carrier carrying soyabean seed, to a new berth—highlighting the dynamic and coordinated nature of daily activity across the terminals.
This ongoing shipping activity is a strong indicator of the vital role Port Qasim plays in managing Pakistan’s maritime commerce. With modern berths and efficient logistics support, the port is handling a wide array of cargoes, from energy resources to agricultural imports, with increasing capacity and consistency.
Port Qasim Authority continues to streamline its operations to accommodate growing trade volumes and ensure timely berthing and departure of vessels. The consistent momentum in shipping activity emphasizes Port Qasim’s importance as a strategic maritime gateway for the national economy.
