KARACHI, May 5, 2026 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its daily shipping activity report for May 5, 2026, detailing vessel movements and cargo handling operations over the past 24 hours.
The report, issued at 8:00 AM Pakistan Standard Time, provides an overview of maritime activity to facilitate stakeholders in the shipping and logistics sectors.
Vessel Berthing and Operations
During the last 24 hours, seven vessels—Brooklyn Bridge, Zhong Gu Kun Ming, Lady of Doria, Fortune Queen, Honor Galaxy, Bao Yue Ling, and PM Hayabusa-II—were engaged in loading and unloading operations.
These ships handled a range of cargo, including containers, furnace oil, soybean seed, chemicals, and coal at multiple terminals such as Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Grain Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, MW-4, and Pakistan International Bulk Terminal.
Arrivals at Outer Anchorage
Meanwhile, six additional vessels—Elbella, Roan Teresa, Pramavera-II, Aquavita Trust, Carrie, and Gooby—arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period. These ships are scheduled to handle furnace oil, chemicals, and coal.
Vessel Movements
A total of eleven ships were engaged at PQA berths over the past 24 hours. Among them, the bulk carrier Thor Magnihild departed from the port on Tuesday morning.
Additionally, four vessels—Zhong Gu Kun Ming, Brooklyn Bridge, Honor Galaxy, and GFS Jade—are expected to sail during the day.
Cargo Handling Volume
The port handled a total cargo volume of 135,771 tonnes, comprising 72,519 tonnes of imports and 63,252 tonnes of exports.
Containerized cargo accounted for 4,783 containers, including 1,817 TEUs of imports and 2,966 TEUs of exports, reflecting steady trade activity.
Outlook and Expected Berthings
Currently, 12 ships are stationed at the outer anchorage. Of these, vessels Raon Teresa and Gooby, along with GFS Jade, are expected to berth at Engro Vopak Terminal (EVTL), Pakistan Qasim Electric Power Terminal (PQEPT), and Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), respectively.
Officials indicated that the ongoing vessel movements and cargo handling activity highlight the port’s operational efficiency and its role in supporting Pakistan’s maritime trade.
