Karachi, August 9, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its latest shipping activity update, detailing vessel movements and cargo handling over the past 24 hours.
Issued at 0800 hours, the report aims to keep stakeholders informed of ongoing port operations and cargo trends.
According to the PQA, shipping activity at the port remained steady throughout Saturday. Several vessels were involved in sailing, berthing, and shifting operations, highlighting the port’s critical role in facilitating Pakistan’s trade. The bulk carrier SEA BIRD, loaded with over 59,000 tonnes of coal, departed from the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, while TAN BINH 259, carrying a rice shipment, also set sail from Marginal Wharf-II.
In berthing operations, the tanker VOULA docked at the FOTCO Oil Terminal with more than 54,000 tonnes of gasoline, underscoring the port’s importance in handling energy imports. Additionally, container vessel XPRESS KOHIMA and cargo ship GREAT VOYAGE were positioned at key berths to ensure smooth unloading and loading schedules.
The report also noted shifting activity, with the cement carrier DARIA moved between berths to optimize operational flow. Such repositioning reflects the dynamic coordination required in port logistics and shipping schedules.
PQA emphasized that efficient port management and timely shipping activity reports are vital for enhancing transparency, reducing delays, and maintaining the port’s reputation as one of Pakistan’s busiest maritime gateways.
