Karachi, January 3, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its shipping activity report for Friday, January 3, 2025, aimed at keeping stakeholders informed about the latest developments at the port.

On Thursday, four vessels, namely Vienna Express, Dolphin-19, Renad, and Medrose, arrived and berthed at various terminals across Port Qasim. These ships were carrying diverse cargo, including containers, palm oil, gas oil, and coal. The Vienna Express docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal, Dolphin-19 at the Liquid Cargo Terminal, Renad at the FOTCO Oil Terminal, and Medrose at Marginal Wharf-4 Terminal.

In the past 24 hours, three additional vessels – SSL Brahmaputra, Haj Mohammad, and Marangas Klymnos – arrived at the outer anchorage of the port, and are scheduled to load or offload containerized cargo, cement, and liquefied natural gas (LNG). This brings the total number of ships at the port in the last 24 hours to nine, with four vessels, namely Vienna Express, SSL Brahmaputra, Renad, and Ginga Ocelot, expected to sail on Friday.

During the same period, a total cargo volume of 77,352 tonnes was handled at Port Qasim. This included 54,576 tonnes of import cargo and 22,776 tonnes of export cargo, distributed across 1,241 containers (229 TEUs of imports and 1,012 TEUs of exports).

Currently, 19 ships are anchored at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, five ships – Arinaga, Khairpur, SC Hong Kong, Marangas Klymnos, MSC Desiree, SSL Brahmaputra – are scheduled to berth on Friday. These ships are set to load and offload a range of cargo, including rice, mogas (motor gasoline), chemicals, LNG, and containers, at various terminals such as MW-1, FOTCO, EVTL, PGPCL, and QICT.

Additionally, a container ship named APL Qingdao is expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, further contributing to the port’s ongoing shipping activity.
