Port Qasim Shipping Activity Report for November 21, 2024

Karachi, November 21, 2024 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its daily shipping activity report for Thursday, November 21, 2024, providing an overview of operations and arrivals to facilitate stakeholders.

During the past 24 hours, six vessels—Atlantic Ibis, Maersk Cape Town, ST. Michaelis, Milaha Ras Laffan, and Khairpur—arrived at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Port Gas Terminal, and FOTCO Oil Terminal, carrying containers, palm oil, LNG, and mogas.

In addition to these arrivals, three more ships—Xpress Salween, Kaisa-1, and Al-Deebal—reached the outer anchorage of Port Qasim, carrying containers, LPG, and LNG.

A total of 11 ships were engaged at the port’s berths during this period. Three ships—Atlantic Ibis, Maersk Cape Town, and Kouras Queen—departed on Thursday morning, while three others—Xpress Salween, Jaru Bhum, and Izumo Hermes—are expected to set sail by Thursday afternoon.

Port Qasim handled a total cargo volume of 124,363 tonnes over the last 24 hours. This included 92,770 tonnes of import cargo and 31,593 tonnes of export cargo. The cargo was transported in 1,686 containers, comprising 906 TEUs of imports and 780 TEUs of exports.

Currently, 12 ships are anchored at the port’s outer anchorage. Among them, four vessels—Han Ren, Al-Deebal, Xpress Salween, and Jaru Bhum—and two additional ships, Navios Tempo and Kualalumpur Express, are scheduled to dock at the MW-1, EETL, and QICT terminals on Thursday to load or offload cargo, including rice, LNG, and containers.

Looking ahead, another container vessel, ONE Maneuvervoy, is expected to arrive at the port on Friday, November 22, 2024, further enhancing activity at Port Qasim.

The PQA’s shipping report highlights the efficient handling of cargo and smooth vessel operations at the port, underscoring its pivotal role in supporting Pakistan’s trade and logistics infrastructure.
