Port Qasim shipping operations report – May 12, 2025

Karachi, May 12, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) released its daily shipping operations report on Monday, highlighting robust activity across port facilities aimed at ensuring smooth maritime logistics for all stakeholders.

According to the report, four vessels—Bright Fuji, MSC Greenwich, Chiristiana-P, and Paolo Topic—successfully berthed at Port Qasim on Sunday. These ships are carrying containers, soybean seed, and coal, and were docked at the Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), the Grain Terminal, and the Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT), respectively.

Meanwhile, shipping activity continues to increase as three more vessels—Tanja, Beyond-2, and Chinook-I—arrived at the port’s outer anchorage within the last 24 hours. These ships are scheduled to load and offload cargo including containers, cement, and palm oil.

In total, five ships were actively engaged in operations at PQA berths during the past 24 hours. Of these, two container ships, MSC Greenwich and Bright Fuji, departed the port Monday morning following completion of their shipping operations. Another vessel, Nave Cielo, is scheduled to sail by Monday afternoon.

Port Qasim handled a significant cargo volume of 101,647 tonnes over the past day. This included 84,647 tonnes of imported goods and 17,000 tonnes of export cargo, which were transported in a total of 2,873 containers—comprising 1,873 import TEUs and 1,000 export TEUs. These figures underscore the port’s steady operational throughput and shipping efficiency.

Currently, four ships are anchored at the Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim. Among them, Beyond-2, Tanja, and MSC Tania are scheduled to berth at the Multi-Purpose Terminal (MW-2) and QICT later today for further shipping operations, including container and cement handling.

Looking ahead, three additional container vessels—Valence, SM Kaveri, and MSC Joanna—are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, May 13. This continuous inflow of vessels highlights the critical role of Port Qasim in supporting Pakistan’s maritime trade through reliable and well-coordinated port operations and shipping logistics.
