Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, May 29, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its detailed shipping operations report for Thursday, highlighting another bustling day of maritime activity at one of Pakistan’s busiest trade gateways.

As of 0800 hours, the report outlines the latest vessel movements, berthings, and overall cargo operations over the past 24 hours.

The port saw a significant uptick in shipping traffic, with multiple vessels handling both imports and exports. The vessel M.V. XIN LIAN CHANG, after completing its loading procedures, set sail from the port at 1300 hours. This movement was part of coordinated operations to maintain flow and efficiency in maritime trade routes.

Three vessels berthed at Port Qasim during the day, showcasing the port’s increasing handling capacity. Among them, M.T. HANYU FREESIA arrived at 0900 hours, offloading 9,530 metric tons of Paraxylene—a key industrial chemical used in the production of plastics and textiles. The vessel is being handled by Al-Pine Marine at the EVTL terminal, marking another critical milestone in port logistics and industrial operations.

Simultaneously, M.V. XIN LIAN CHANG also berthed again at QT2-I, signifying a return movement tied to containerized trade, while M.V. SOFIA EXPRESS, an extensive container vessel with a length of 335 meters, docked at QT2-II under the agency of Hapag-Lloyd Pakistan, bolstering the port’s container throughput.

Later in the afternoon, M.V. AMOY SUNNY made its arrival at 1500 hours, carrying a massive consignment of 65,772 metric tons of soyabean seed. Managed by Eastwind Shipping, this bulk cargo operation is vital to the agri-import sector and reflects Port Qasim’s role in supporting national food security through maritime trade.

The PQA emphasized that the port continues to operate at full capacity with uninterrupted shipping operations, efficiently handling high-value and high-volume commodities. The latest report reaffirms Port Qasim’s status as a strategic maritime hub supporting Pakistan’s economic lifeline through streamlined vessel traffic and well-coordinated shipping operations.
