Karachi, December 6, 2024 – Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has issued the shipping operations schedule for Friday, December 6, 2024, ensuring a seamless process for stakeholders involved in the port’s daily activities.

The port has seen significant movement over the past 24 hours, with seven vessels arriving and berthed at various terminals on Thursday, December 5. These include X-Press Mekong, One Readiness, Jaru Bhum, Tirua, Acuity, EM Zenith, and Seafortress. These ships are carrying a variety of cargo, including containers, palm kernel, gas oil, and coal. The vessels were assigned to different terminals within the port, including the Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, and Power Electric Terminal.

In addition to these vessels, three more ships—Ashico Victoria, Ken Colon, and Duhail—arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim in the past 24 hours. These ships are currently awaiting their turn to dock and engage in cargo operations. In total, 13 ships were engaged at the port’s berths during the last 24 hours, highlighting the busy nature of operations at Port Qasim.

Among the vessels currently docked, seven ships are expected to depart today, December 6, including X-Press Mekong, Jaru Bhum, One Readiness, Tirua, Au Taurus, EM Zenith, and Venus. These departures are part of the routine shipping operations that maintain the flow of goods into and out of the port.

In terms of cargo handling, the port has processed a substantial volume of goods. A total of 164,174 tonnes of cargo was handled over the last 24 hours, consisting of 131,263 tonnes of import cargo and 32,911 tonnes of export cargo. This cargo was moved across 3,834 containers, including 2,121 TEUs of imports and 1,713 TEUs of exports. These figures reflect the importance of Port Qasim as a key gateway for international trade.

Additionally, there are ten ships currently anchored at the outer anchorage of the port, including Ashico Victoria, Bam Bam, Duhail, MSC York VII, and X-Press Salween. These ships are scheduled to dock at various terminals today, where they will load and unload cargo such as rice, mogas, LNG, and containers. Ships like MSC York VII and X-Press Salween are expected to berth at FAP, FOTCO, EETL, and QICT for further operations. Moreover, another container ship, X-Press Anglesey, is expected to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, continuing the high levels of activity as the port remains one of the busiest maritime hubs in the region.
