Port Qasim shipping operations update – January 9, 2026

Port Qasim Activity

Karachi, January 9, 2026 — The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Friday issued its latest shipping operations report to keep stakeholders informed about vessel movements and port activities over the past 24 hours. The report was updated at 8:00 am Pakistan Standard Time (PST) and covers details of ships that sailed, berthed, and shifted at various terminals of Port Qasim.

According to the PQA, several vessels departed the port during the reporting period, carrying a range of imported and exported commodities. These included bulk cargo such as coal and industrial chemicals, highlighting continued activity in the energy and manufacturing supply chain. Shipping agents coordinated timely sailings to ensure smooth cargo handling and minimal congestion at berths.

The report also noted multiple vessels berthing at Port Qasim, including container ships and tankers carrying essential commodities such as palm oil, low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO), high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The arrival of these vessels reflects steady inflows of energy products and edible oils, which are critical for domestic consumption and industrial use.

In addition to arrivals and departures, the PQA confirmed the shifting of a vessel involved in bunker supply operations within the port limits. Such movements are part of routine port management aimed at optimizing berth utilization and ensuring safe navigation for incoming and outgoing ships.

Port officials stated that shipping operations at Port Qasim remained normal and efficient, supported by coordinated efforts of terminal operators, shipping agents, and port authorities. They added that continuous monitoring of vessel traffic helps maintain operational efficiency and facilitates uninterrupted trade activities.

Stakeholders, including importers, exporters, and logistics operators, are advised to stay updated with official PQA notifications for the latest information on shipping schedules and port operations.
