Karachi, July 16, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has released its latest update on shipping operations, detailing vessel activity and cargo movement over the past 24 hours.
The comprehensive report, issued at 08:00 hours on Wednesday, aims to inform stakeholders and ensure the smooth coordination of maritime logistics.
According to the PQA, the port witnessed the successful sailing of three major vessels, all departing after completing their cargo operations. Among them, the vessel M.V-KEDROS departed with a significant consignment of 59,366 metric tons of soybean seed. Similarly, M.T-ULLSWATER concluded operations after offloading 3,573 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), while M.T-FUWAIRIT handled a massive 135,656 metric tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG). These departures underscore the efficiency of ongoing shipping operations and the critical role Port Qasim plays in meeting Pakistan’s energy and agricultural demands.
The berthing side of operations also remained active. Three vessels docked at various terminals of Port Qasim, including M.V-HANSA AFRICA, which arrived to load and unload containerized cargo. The arrival of M.T-EVA DIAMOND, carrying 15,734 metric tons of Paraxylene, highlights the port’s strategic importance in petrochemical shipping operations. In addition, M.V-CMA CGM VERDI and M.T-ASIA INSPIRE also berthed at their designated terminals in the later part of the day, signaling a continuous flow of maritime traffic.
Port Qasim has emerged as a major hub for commercial and industrial maritime activity, supporting the national economy through its well-organized shipping operations. Its ability to handle a diverse range of cargo—from LNG and LPG to bulk agricultural products and industrial chemicals—demonstrates the port’s operational versatility and resilience.
As global trade routes remain competitive, efficient port activity is crucial. The PQA continues to focus on optimizing its logistics, vessel scheduling, and cargo clearance procedures. Authorities assure that necessary coordination is being maintained among all terminals, ensuring that shipping operations proceed without interruption.
With weather conditions currently stable and no alerts affecting maritime movement, Port Qasim remains fully operational and continues to serve as a backbone of Pakistan’s sea trade.
