Karachi, January 17, 2025 – The Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has announced details of shipping operations for Friday, January 17, 2025, aimed at facilitating smooth maritime trade and logistics. Port Qasim, one of Pakistan’s busiest ports, continues to handle a wide range of cargo with efficiency and precision, supporting the country’s economic activities and international trade.

According to PQA, several vessels are scheduled for cargo handling, berthing, and departure. The operations for the day include the handling of essential commodities such as rice, ethylene, gasoline, coal, and containerized cargo.

Departing Vessels

The departure schedule highlights the efficient management of vessels at the port. M.T. Fenja Bulker, a bulk carrier registered under PQA No. 35332, with a length overall (L.O.A) of 183 meters, is set to depart at 3:00 PM. It has successfully handled 14,700 metric tons of rice and operates under Eastwind Shipping at the FAP berth.

M.T. Gas Emerald, carrying 4,268 metric tons of ethylene, is also scheduled to leave by 3:30 PM. The 115-meter-long vessel is managed by Al-Pine Marine and is berthed at EVTL. Additionally, M.V. Cap Andreas, a 271-meter container vessel operated by Ocean Network Express, is expected to depart from QICT-VII by 3:30 PM as well.

Berthing Operations

Port Qasim’s berthing schedule for January 17 includes the arrival of various vessels handling different types of cargo. M.T. Asprouda, with a length of 229 meters, berthed at FOTCO at 10:00 AM to handle 36,652 metric tons of gasoline. Similarly, M.V. Britain Bay, a 197-meter-long coal carrier, berthed at PQEPT at 2:30 PM to unload 53,275 metric tons of coal.

Other vessels include container ships such as M.V. Jaru Bhum, which berthed at QT2-II at 4:00 PM, and M.V. Xpress Salween, scheduled to berth at QICT-VII by 8:00 PM.
