Lahore, January 4, 2026 – The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has reported an impressive 35 percent growth in revenue collection during the first half of the fiscal year 2025-26 (July–December) compared to the same period last year. This milestone highlights the effectiveness of strategic reforms and improved tax administration in the province.
According to a PRA spokesperson, the authority collected Rs149.5 billion in total revenue in the first six months of the current fiscal year, up from Rs112.1 billion during the corresponding period of FY25. The significant increase is being credited to the Punjab Chief Minister’s strategic initiatives, which focused on modernizing revenue systems, improving compliance, and ensuring transparency in tax operations.
The spokesperson emphasized that the growth was made possible through the adoption of modern reforms, including streamlined processes for taxpayers, digital monitoring systems, and efficient enforcement measures. These reforms have not only improved collection efficiency but also enhanced the ease of doing business for individuals and companies operating in Punjab.
The surge in provincial revenues is expected to have a direct impact on financial stability and development across the region. Enhanced revenue collections allow the government to fund key development projects, implement welfare initiatives, and maintain fiscal discipline, ensuring sustainable growth in the province.
Experts believe that if the PRA continues its current trajectory, Punjab could set a benchmark for other provinces in revenue generation and governance. The 35 percent increase underscores the importance of systematic reforms, technological adoption, and proactive governance in achieving robust fiscal outcomes.
This achievement positions the PRA as a model of effective provincial revenue management, demonstrating how targeted reforms can translate into substantial financial gains for the public sector.
