Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making headlines once again — this time for a new wave of staff departures.
According to People on June 13, 2025, several team members have recently exited their roles with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, marking another shift in the couple’s evolving operations.
Among the notable exits are Kyle Boulia, who served as the couple’s deputy press secretary based in Los Angeles, and Charlie Gipson, their UK-based press officer.
Both Boulia and Gipson joined the Sussexes’ communications team in April 2024. In addition, Hello! reported that two members from Meghan’s private team have also stepped down in recent weeks.
These latest changes follow a year of staffing shakeups for the Sussexes, who continue to expand their media ventures and philanthropic initiatives.
In a strategic move to address their growing international presence, the couple recently appointed Meredith Kendall Maines — a communications veteran from Hulu and Google — as their first-ever Chief Communications Officer.
In response to the recent exits, Maines issued a statement explaining the shift in structure: “As the Duke and Duchess’s business and philanthropic interests grow, I have made the strategic decision to move toward a more traditional communications structure of specialist agency support.”
She further noted, “Transitioning from a team of two to an agency support staff of eight, operating across five different time zones, will give international media and stakeholders better access — and critically, faster response times to inquiries.”
However, behind the scenes, some royal observers remain skeptical. A source told Hello! magazine, “Something tells me there will be another change in the future. Meghan and Harry have hired some of the most incredible people at the top of their fields, yet somehow none of them ever work out.”
This isn’t the first time staff turnover has raised eyebrows. In August 2024, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the spotlight over multiple resignations. At the time, royal broadcaster Helena Chard told Fox News that 18 staff members had exited, fueling speculation about a “revolving door” work environment.
As the Sussexes continue building their global brand, all eyes remain on how their internal restructuring will impact their next chapter.
