Princess Kate has once again drawn public attention, this time not for a royal engagement but for a personal errand.
She was reportedly spotted browsing for furniture as preparations intensify for her family’s move into what many are calling their new “forever home.”
According to The Sun’s August 15 report, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — are preparing to relocate from Adelaide Cottage to the historic Forest Lodge in Windsor later this year.
Over the summer, locals witnessed Princess Kate exploring a furniture storehouse on the Windsor Estate that specializes in surplus royal antiques and household pieces. Among her chosen items was a striking 24-seater dining table, perfectly suited for the larger scale of their new residence. A source revealed to the Daily Mail that such purchases are practical: “This house is much larger than Adelaide Cottage. It has formal rooms, including a dining and drawing room, which require substantial pieces of furniture.”
The Georgian manor, which dates back over 300 years, is currently undergoing extensive renovations. Planning documents confirm both internal and external works are underway, though the project is being entirely privately funded by the royal couple without burdening taxpayers.
An insider further noted, “Windsor has always felt like home, but living at Adelaide Cottage has been marked by difficult years. The move is about fresh beginnings and permanence.”
Kensington Palace confirmed: “The Wales family will move house later this year.”
