PSL 10 action resumes on May 17 after nine-day break

Pakistan Super League

Lahore, May 16, 2025: After a nine-day hiatus, the Pakistan Super League (PSL 10) is set to resume with full fervor on Saturday, May 17, as Peshawar Zalmi led by Babar Azam clash with David Warner’s Karachi Kings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The highly anticipated return of PSL 10 promises to deliver thrilling contests as teams battle it out for a spot in the playoffs.

The ongoing 10th edition of the PSL has already delivered drama, upsets, and standout performances. However, Multan Sultans—last year’s runners-up—have had a disastrous campaign, managing just one win in nine matches and are now officially out of the playoff race. With them out of the equation, the competition intensifies among the remaining five teams.

Currently, Quetta Gladiators lead the table with 13 points, followed closely by Karachi Kings on 10. Meanwhile, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi are in must-win situations, each aiming to secure the remaining playoff berths in PSL 10. With just a handful of matches left in the group stage, every game is crucial.

Zalmi, with two matches remaining, must win both to stay in contention. Qalandars, who have only one league game left, are in a similar situation. The weekend will be action-packed: on Sunday, May 18, Multan Sultans will face Quetta Gladiators in the first match of the day, followed by a do-or-die battle between Zalmi and Qalandars. The last group stage match of PSL 10 will feature Islamabad United against Karachi Kings on May 19.

All playoff matches—including the Qualifier, Eliminators, and the grand Final—will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from May 21 to 25. Saturday, May 24, has been declared a rest day.

Individually, Mohammad Rizwan leads the PSL 10 batting charts with 363 runs, followed by Sahibzada Farhan (321) and Fakhar Zaman (309). In the bowling department, Mohammad Abbas Afridi and Jason Holder have taken 15 wickets each, while Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Ali trail closely with 14.

Fans holding tickets for the earlier postponed matches (8–10 May) can now use the same tickets for the rescheduled games on May 17–19. Notably, May 18 will feature a double-header, and a single ticket grants access to both matches that day.

As PSL 10 heads toward a thrilling finale, fans can expect high-octane cricket, gripping finishes, and standout performances as teams give their all in the battle for the coveted trophy.
