Multan, February 25, 2024 – In a nail-biting encounter at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan Sultans emerged victorious against Quetta Gladiators in the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9, securing a 13-run win that left the fans on the edge of their seats.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators put Multan Sultans into bat. Multan Sultans capitalized on the opportunity, posting a formidable total of 180 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Reeza Hendricks stole the show with a splendid innings, scoring 72 runs off just 47 balls. Mohammad Rizwan contributed a valuable 51 runs in 42 balls, while Tayyab Tahir remained unbeaten with a quickfire 35 runs off 22 balls.
In response, Quetta Gladiators faced a challenging target of 181 runs but could only manage to reach 167 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Khawaja Nafay was the top scorer for Quetta, posting 36 runs in 31 balls, while Rilee Rossouw and Saud Shakeel contributed 30 and 24 runs, respectively.
The bowling attack of Multan Sultans proved to be the decisive factor in the match. Mohammad Ali emerged as the star bowler, taking three crucial wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs.
