Islamabad, January 29, 2025 – Most districts of Punjab are bracing for cloudy, cold, and dry weather with light rain on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold and dry conditions will dominate most parts of Punjab, while areas like Murree, Galliyat, and their surroundings may experience partly cloudy weather with light rain or snow.
Meanwhile, drizzle and partly cloudy conditions are expected in several Punjab districts, including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sialkot, Narowal, and Gujranwala during the daytime. The PMD further indicated that on Wednesday night, cold and dry weather will persist in most districts of Punjab, but some areas such as Murree, Galliyat, and their surroundings might see cloudy conditions with light rain and snowfall.
Additional regions in Punjab—including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, and Sargodha—are also likely to experience cloudy weather with light rain or drizzle. The ongoing weather changes are attributed to a westerly wave affecting the upper parts of the country, influencing Punjab’s climate significantly.
National Weather Outlook
For Wednesday, the PMD forecast suggests that most of the country’s plains will remain cold and dry. However, cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Pothohar region.
On Thursday, similar weather conditions are expected, with cold and dry weather prevailing across most plains. Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are predicted to experience cloudy weather accompanied by light rain or snowfall.
