Punjab districts to receive monsoon rain on August 4

Monsoon Rainfall

Islamabad, August 3, 2025 – Several districts across Punjab are expected to receive monsoon rain on Monday, August 4, 2025, according to the latest weather advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The PMD forecast indicates that mainly hot and humid weather will persist across most regions of Punjab during the day. However, isolated rain-wind/thundershower activity is likely in several districts, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Mianwali, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

On Sunday night, similar weather conditions are expected, with hot and humid weather dominating much of the province. However, light to moderate monsoon showers are anticipated in the same districts, offering some relief from the rising humidity levels.

At the national level, the PMD said a seasonal low lies over north Balochistan, while weak monsoon currents are currently penetrating the upper and central regions of Pakistan. Additionally, a westerly wave is present over the northern parts of the country, enhancing the chances of rainfall.

On Monday, the weather will remain predominantly hot and very humid across Pakistan. Still, monsoon rain accompanied by wind and thundershowers is likely in isolated parts of northeast Punjab, the Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Heavy falls may also occur in some locations during this period.

In the past 24 hours, scattered monsoon rain was reported in parts of Punjab. Lahore received 74 mm of rain at the airport and 41 mm in the city. Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sheikhupura, Attock, and Jhelum also recorded rainfall. The weather remained hot and humid in other areas.

The PMD continues to monitor the monsoon system closely, urging residents in Punjab to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during possible rain spells.
