Islamabad, September 28, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a spell of hot and dry weather for most districts of Punjab on Sunday, September 28, and Monday, September 29.

Residents across the province have been advised to brace for rising temperatures during the two-day period.

For Sunday, the PMD reported that mainly hot and dry weather would persist across central and southern districts of Punjab, with no significant rainfall expected. Moving into Monday, the department said the same trend of hot and dry weather would continue in the majority of areas, affecting both rural and urban centers of Punjab.

At the national level, a prevailing continental air mass is dominating the atmosphere, preventing moisture from entering most regions. As a result, hot and dry weather is anticipated in much of Pakistan. The only exception may be southeastern Sindh, where partly cloudy skies and a chance of light rain, wind, or thunderstorms could occur at isolated spots.

In its past 24-hour weather summary, the PMD confirmed that hot and dry conditions prevailed over most parts of the country. The highest recorded maximum temperatures included 41°C in Nokundi, Bhakkar, and Sibbi.

Authorities have advised citizens in Punjab to take precautionary measures, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, especially vulnerable groups such as children and the old-age.
