Punjab Weather Forecast: Cold Temperatures with Cloudy Skies

Islamabad, February 28, 2025 – The weather in Punjab is expected to remain cold with cloudy skies over the next 24 hours, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Various districts across Punjab will experience a mix of chilly conditions and intermittent rain, influencing daily life and travel plans in the province.

The PMD has predicted that Punjab weather will remain cold, with most districts seeing partly cloudy skies. Areas such as Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Sheikhupura are expected to experience intermittent rain and hailstorms. Additionally, the hill stations of Murree, Galyat, and surrounding regions may witness spells of rain and snowfall, adding to the wintry conditions in Punjab.

The minimum temperature in Lahore is expected to drop to around 14°C, with a maximum of 23°C. While dry weather is forecasted to return by tomorrow, another spell of rain is expected in Punjab on March 2, according to the PMD. The overall weather in Punjab will remain unsettled, with fluctuating conditions impacting various regions.

Meanwhile, scattered rain and snowfall are also expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, northeast Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Islamabad’s weather will remain partly cloudy, with the possibility of thunderstorms and intermittent rain throughout the day. The PMD has also indicated that the capital may see additional showers along with occasional thunder and lightning.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, many districts will experience cold weather with cloudy conditions. The upper regions, including Dera, Chitral, Kohistan, Swat, Shangla, Manshera, Battagram, Buner, Abbottabad, Swabi, Mardan, Malakand, Bajaur, Nowshera, Peshawar, and Charsadda, are expected to witness intermittent rain and snowfall in the mountainous areas, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

In Sindh, dry weather is likely to persist in most districts, though Karachi may witness overcast skies with a chance of light rain or drizzle. Balochistan is expected to experience cold temperatures with partly cloudy skies, along with rain and snowfall in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and several other areas.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also see periods of rain and snowfall, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. The PMD recorded some of the lowest temperatures in Leh (-04°C), Parachinar (-03°C), Gopas and Bagroot (-02°C), and Malam Jabba (-01°C). With Punjab weather remaining unpredictable, residents are advised to stay updated on the latest forecasts to plan accordingly.
