Pakistan Weather

Islamabad, February 15, 2026 — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the weather forecast for Punjab for the next 24 hours, predicting mainly dry and cold conditions across most districts on Monday, February 16, 2026.

According to the PMD, cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of Punjab, especially during morning and night hours. Residents of Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding hilly areas should prepare for colder temperatures, as cold and dry conditions are likely to persist throughout the day.

However, the department noted that rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorm may occur at isolated places in Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, and surrounding areas during night hours. These weather changes could bring brief relief from dry conditions but may also cause temporary disruptions in these regions.

For Sunday night, the PMD forecast indicates that cold and dry weather will continue across most districts of Punjab, including Murree and Galiyat. Citizens are advised to take precautionary measures, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours, when temperatures are expected to drop significantly.

National Weather Outlook

At the national level, the PMD stated that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. Additionally, a shallow westerly wave is likely to enter southeastern parts of Pakistan tonight and may persist until February 17, influencing weather patterns in several regions.

On Sunday, mainly cold and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country, while very cold conditions will prevail in hilly areas. On Monday, rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms is expected in parts of Balochistan, lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Thal desert during evening and night hours. Elsewhere in the country, cold and dry weather is likely to continue, with very cold conditions in hilly areas during morning and nighttime.

Past 24-Hour Weather

During the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of Pakistan. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded were Leh at -09°C, Astore at -04°C, and Skardu, Bagrote, and Kalam at -02°C, while Hunza recorded 0°C.

The PMD has advised travelers, farmers, and residents of cold-prone areas to remain cautious and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their livestock from harsh weather conditions.
