Islamabad, May 12, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released its Punjab weather forecast for Tuesday, May 13, predicting continued hot weather conditions across most parts of the province, with the possibility of rain and thunderstorms in a few districts.
According to PMD, the prevailing weather pattern indicates that mainly hot and dry weather will dominate in the majority of Punjab’s districts. However, there is a likelihood of partly cloudy weather accompanied by dust/thunderstorm-rain at isolated locations, particularly in Murree, Galliyat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sargodha, Lahore, and Sheikhupura.
Tuesday’s Weather Forecast
For Tuesday, the department expects hot daytime conditions across most of Punjab, with maximum temperatures remaining higher than normal. Moist currents from the Arabian Sea and the presence of a westerly wave are contributing to the slight instability that may bring short spells of rain and windstorms to select areas.
Monday’s Weather Overview
On Monday, similar weather conditions were observed. While most districts of Punjab experienced scorching heat, some areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, D.G. Khan, and parts of Lahore witnessed partly cloudy weather with isolated rain, gusty winds, and occasional thunderstorms.
Rainfall Highlights (Last 24 Hours)
In the last 24 hours, isolated rain occurred in various parts of Punjab, with Murree recording the highest at 42mm, followed by Islamabad City (25mm), Saidpur (18mm), Golra (15mm), and Lahore City (4mm). Light rainfall was also reported in Narowal, Sargodha, Sialkot, and Kasur.
National Weather Outlook
Across Pakistan, most regions are experiencing hot and dry weather, especially in southern and central parts. However, rain with windstorms is expected at isolated places in Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on both Monday and Tuesday.
Advisory
The PMD advises citizens, especially in Punjab, to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure. Farmers and local authorities are also urged to stay updated on the changing weather patterns as light rain and thunderstorms may impact agricultural activities and local transportation in some regions.
