Islamabad, January 3, 2026: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather update for Punjab, forecasting cold and dry conditions across most districts on Sunday, January 4, 2026, with dense fog likely in several plain areas.
Punjab Weather Forecast
According to the PMD, cold and dry weather will prevail across most parts of Punjab on both Saturday and Sunday. Very cold conditions are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding hilly areas, particularly during morning and night hours.
The department has also warned of moderate to dense fog, which may reduce visibility in several districts, including:
Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution during early morning and late-night hours due to poor visibility caused by fog.
National Weather Outlook
At the national level, PMD said continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, resulting in stable but cold weather conditions.
• Saturday: Cold and dry weather is expected across most regions, while very cold conditions will persist in hilly areas during the night. Moderate to dense fog is likely in Punjab, upper Sindh, and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
• Sunday: Similar conditions are expected, with cold and dry weather nationwide and intense cold in mountainous regions during morning and night hours. Fog may again affect plains.

Over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, with very cold conditions in hilly regions. Fog remained widespread in Punjab, while light rain was reported at a few locations in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
