Islamabad, February 18, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather across most districts of Punjab on Thursday, February 19, 2026, with shallow fog likely to develop in some northeastern areas during the early morning hours.
According to the PMD, dry conditions will dominate most parts of Punjab, while temperatures are expected to remain cold during the morning and night. In northeastern districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and surrounding areas, shallow fog may form in the morning, which could reduce visibility and affect travel. In Murree, Galiyat, and nearby regions, the weather will stay dry, with cold nights and cool mornings.
For Wednesday, the department reported mostly dry weather in Punjab, although partly cloudy conditions with isolated light rain, drizzle, and wind-thunderstorms were observed in eastern districts such as Lahore, Faisalabad, Kasur, Okara, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalnagar. Murree and Galiyat remained dry, while experiencing partly cloudy afternoons and cold nights.
At the national level, PMD stated that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, while an upper-level circulation over eastern Punjab is influencing local weather patterns. As a result, mainly dry weather is expected across Pakistan on Thursday, with cold conditions in upper regions during night and morning hours.
During the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather persisted nationwide, though isolated rain, wind, thunderstorms, and hailstorms were reported in parts of Balochistan, coastal and upper Sindh, and Parachinar. Significant rainfall was recorded in Thatta and Karachi, while Ziarat and Kalat received notable showers.
The lowest minimum temperatures were recorded in Leh (-7°C), Skardu and Astore (-3°C), Bagrote (-2°C), and Kalam (-1°C), reflecting ongoing cold conditions in northern areas.
