Islamabad, December 19, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather update for Punjab, forecasting cold and partly cloudy conditions across most districts of the province over the next 24 hours.

According to the PMD, Friday is expected to remain cold with partly cloudy skies in most areas of Punjab, including Murree. Colder and cloudy conditions are likely to prevail in Murree, Galiyat, and nearby hilly regions. The department has also warned that fog and smog may persist during night hours in several districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Sahiwal, Multan, Kasur, Khanewal, Khanpur, Kot Addu, Layyah, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and surrounding areas, which could affect visibility.

For Saturday, the PMD predicts continued cold and partly cloudy weather across most parts of Punjab. However, cloudy conditions with a chance of light rain at isolated places are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and adjoining regions. Fog and smog are likely to persist during morning and night hours in many plain districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

At the national level, the PMD said a westerly wave is currently affecting western parts of Balochistan and is expected to move into the upper regions of the country by Saturday evening or night. As a result, cold and partly cloudy weather is likely to prevail over most areas, with chances of rain and gusty winds at isolated locations in Balochistan, as well as western and northern regions.

During the past 24 hours, cold and partly cloudy weather persisted across much of the country, while fog and smog affected parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. The lowest temperatures recorded were minus 5°C in Leh and minus 2°C in Gupis, Bagrote, and Skardu.
