Islamabad, December 4, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a fresh weather forecast for Punjab, indicating cold and partly cloudy conditions across several districts on Friday, December 5, 2025.
The advisory highlights expected smog, fog, and temperature patterns due to prevailing continental air and an incoming weak westerly wave.
According to the PMD, upper Punjab districts will continue to experience cold and partly cloudy weather on both Thursday and Friday. Murree, Galiyat and nearby hilly regions are also expected to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Smog is likely to continue affecting major cities including Lahore, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Bahawalpur and surrounding areas, while fog may develop during night and early morning hours.
At the national level, the PMD notes that a shallow westerly wave is approaching western and upper regions of the country. Cloudy to partly cloudy skies are expected over Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab and northern Balochistan. Very cold nights are anticipated in hilly areas, while the remaining regions will stay cold and dry. Smog is expected to persist over the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with chances of fog during night and morning.
