Punjab Weather Update: Hot and Dry Conditions to Persist

Islamabad, April 1, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that hot and dry weather will continue to dominate most districts of Punjab on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

The prevailing weather pattern suggests that residents of the province should brace for continued heat, particularly in southern regions.

According to the PMD, Punjab will experience mainly hot and dry conditions, with temperatures expected to remain high in both urban and rural areas. The southern districts of the province, including Bahawalpur, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan, are likely to experience even more intense heat compared to other regions. The scorching temperatures, combined with dry air, could lead to discomfort and increased demand for water and cooling facilities.

Meanwhile, a slight variation in the weather is expected in northern parts of Punjab. Areas such as Murree, Galliyat, and adjoining regions may witness partly cloudy conditions during the evening and nighttime, offering some relief from the heat. Similarly, Kashmir could experience brief cloudy spells, although the overall weather will remain predominantly dry.

The PMD attributes these hot and dry conditions to the prevailing continental air over most parts of the country. This system is causing a persistent warm spell across Punjab, with little to no chances of rainfall in the coming days. Due to the absence of significant weather systems, the province will continue to experience dry conditions, raising concerns over water availability and agricultural impact.

For Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the forecast remains unchanged, with Punjab expected to endure another day of hot and dry weather. Most districts will continue to experience rising temperatures, with little relief in sight. The ongoing dry spell may impact farmers and those involved in agricultural activities, as a lack of moisture in the air could hinder crop growth.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the hot and dry conditions, including staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during peak hours. Authorities have also urged the public to remain cautious about fire hazards, as the dry weather increases the risk of wildfires and accidental fires in open areas.
