Islamabad, February 20, 2025 – The Punjab weather forecast indicates that intermittent rains will continue across various districts for the next 24 hours.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported widespread rainfall of varying intensity, with experts predicting that the wet spell will persist throughout the day.
According to the PMD, a westerly weather system is currently affecting the upper and central regions of Pakistan. As a result, multiple areas in Punjab are expected to receive more showers, accompanied by gusty winds, isolated heavy downpours, and even hailstorms in some places. The affected districts include Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Mangla, Attock, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Toba Tek Singh.
In the northern parts of Punjab, particularly Murree and Galiyat, the Punjab weather forecast warns of snowfall, in addition to cloudy skies and intermittent rain showers. Authorities have issued warnings about potential avalanches and landslides in these areas, advising tourists to exercise caution while traveling.
Lahore, one of the key cities affected by the ongoing Punjab weather pattern, has already received moderate rainfall in the past 24 hours. The temperature in Lahore is expected to range between 13°C and 15°C on Friday, while it may slightly rise to 14°C and 16°C on Saturday. Relative humidity in the city was recorded at 89 percent in the morning, adding to the damp and chilly conditions.
Other cities in Punjab have also experienced significant rainfall, including Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Jhang, Kasur, and Sheikhupura. Murree remains the coldest spot in the province, where temperatures have dropped below freezing, reaching -1°C. Meanwhile, areas such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Chakwal have recorded notable rainfall, with Islamabad’s Golra station receiving 33mm of rain.
With the Punjab weather system still active, authorities have urged residents to stay alert, especially in areas prone to urban flooding. Travelers have also been advised to check road conditions before venturing into rain-affected zones.
As the Punjab weather pattern continues to evolve, updates from the PMD will help residents stay informed about upcoming changes in climatic conditions.
