Rain Alert: Karachi Set for Showers on April 2–3

Pakistan Weather

Karachi, March 30, 2026 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rainfall in Karachi on April 2 and 3 as a new westerly weather system approaches the country, bringing much-needed relief from warm conditions.

According to the latest forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the city is expected to experience partly cloudy skies and pleasant weather over the next few days before the system fully impacts the region. The approaching weather system is likely to begin affecting parts of Pakistan from April 1, with Sindh, including Karachi, expected to receive rainfall shortly after.

The Met Office warned that the system may bring strong winds, thunderstorms, and moderate to heavy showers in some areas. However, the exact intensity of rainfall will become clearer as the system moves closer and its trajectory becomes more defined.

Meteorologists noted that the weather system will likely continue to affect upper and other regions of the country until April 5, indicating a multi-day spell of unsettled weather conditions nationwide. Karachi may also remain under intermittent influence of the system during this period, with chances of additional rain later in the week.

Experts say such weather systems are common during seasonal transitions and often bring temporary relief from heat while improving overall air quality. However, citizens are advised to remain cautious, especially during thunderstorms, as strong winds and heavy rainfall may cause disruptions in traffic and daily activities.

The upcoming rainfall is expected to benefit water supply levels and provide a cooler environment for residents across Karachi.
