Islamabad, October 3, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain and possible hailstorm in Islamabad on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
According to the forecast, the federal capital is likely to witness partly cloudy conditions with chances of scattered showers, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds. Hailstorm activity at isolated spots in Islamabad and its adjoining areas cannot be ruled out, with a probability of 70 percent.
On Friday, the PMD reported partly cloudy skies with a 45 percent chance of light rain and thundershowers in Islamabad and surrounding localities. The system is expected to intensify over the weekend, increasing the likelihood of heavier spells of rain in the Potohar region and northeast Punjab.
At the national level, the PMD has issued a warning of windstorms and lightning in lower Sindh, cautioning that weak structures, including rooftops, boundary walls, electric poles, and solar panels, may sustain damage.
The synoptic situation indicates that a westerly wave is currently affecting the upper parts of the country and will strengthen by Saturday. Under its influence, partly cloudy weather with rain-wind/thundershower is expected in upper and central Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Potohar region, and parts of Punjab. Coastal Sindh may also experience light rain activity, while dry conditions are likely in other regions.
During the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed in most areas, although showers were recorded at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh. Islamabad’s Saidpur received 17 mm of rainfall, while Zero Point registered 1 mm. Other notable measurements included Murree at 24 mm, Kakul 16 mm, and Sialkot Airport 10 mm.
Maximum temperatures were recorded at Turbat and Lasbella (41°C) and Bhakkar (40°C), highlighting the contrast between ongoing heat in southern areas and the approaching wet spell in the north.
