Islamabad, August 9, 2025 – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted chances of rain in Karachi on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
According to the latest PMD update, the port city may experience partly cloudy skies with light rain at isolated locations, offering some relief from the prevailing hot and humid conditions.
For Saturday night, PMD expects mainly hot and humid weather in most parts of Sindh. However, coastal regions, including Karachi, could see partly cloudy conditions and possible light showers.
On Sunday, PMD forecasts similar weather patterns — hot and humid in much of the province, with partly cloudy skies and possible rainfall in coastal areas such as Karachi.
At the national level, the PMD’s synoptic report shows a seasonal low over north Balochistan, with moist Arabian Sea currents penetrating the upper regions of Pakistan. A fresh westerly wave trough is also influencing the country’s upper parts.
While most regions will remain hot and humid, rain-wind/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in northeastern Punjab, Potohar region, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas on both Saturday and Sunday.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and humid weather dominated most of Pakistan, with scattered rain reported in parts of Punjab, Potohar, Islamabad, and Kashmir. Karachi remained dry during this period.
With temperatures soaring up to 44°C in Nokkundi and Dalbandin, residents of Karachi are advised to prepare for a humid weekend with a slight chance of rain.
