Rebecca Ferguson eyes Bond villain role next

Entertainment World

Hollywood star Rebecca Ferguson has expressed her desire to join the iconic James Bond franchise — but not as an ally. The Swedish-born actress revealed she’d love to play a villain in the next James Bond movie, which is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who is also steering Dune: Part Three.

Speaking with The Times, Rebecca Ferguson said, “No. I would have been pushing to play the baddie. We haven’t had a female Bond villain.” She added with a laugh, “I already said that to Denis! — ‘female Bond villain, bitch!’ He was like ‘Oh Là Là.’”

Villeneuve, who previously collaborated with Rebecca in the Dune saga, will return to helm the next installment of the spy series, which is still in the casting phase. Reports suggest that producers are seeking a young British actor to take over the role of 007, following Daniel Craig’s acclaimed run.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Ferguson reflected on her limited screen time in Dune: Part Three during a conversation with IndieWire. “I don’t have a big part in this one, [she’s] just barely in the book,” she shared. “I’m not sure. I was supposed to be in it and Denis had a little idea. The script is phenomenal. It’s really hard to create a film, it’s such a dense book.”

She continued, “There’s so much to tell. Denis does dip in and out and he does want to have certain connections and tentacles to the book. Whatever Denis touches I think is phenomenal.”

Dune: Part Three is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, and fans are already buzzing about the potential of seeing Rebecca Ferguson as the next unforgettable Bond villain.
