San Diego Comic-Con 2024 was abuzz with excitement as Rebecca Ferguson, Steve Zahn, and Common shared their thoughts on the second season of Apple TV+’s hit series “Silo.”

The stars, joined by showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost and author of the Silo book series Hugh Howey, provided a tantalizing glimpse into the show’s upcoming season.

Rebecca Ferguson, who plays a leading role and serves as an executive producer, emphasized the show’s intricate and evolving narrative. “Every time you think you’ve solved something, whether it’s an emotional mystery or a connection or a bond, there is another hinder and another hinder,” Ferguson remarked.

“And that’s what is so great about these stories, it just doesn’t end. And when you think you got the story, it’s like cricket, you just haven’t. It just evaporates. Did that make sense? Like cricket, like the game, it makes no sense,” she added, drawing a parallel between the show’s complexities and the unpredictable nature of cricket.

New cast member Steve Zahn shared his experience of joining the elaborate world of “Silo.” Zahn acknowledged the challenges of integrating into the show’s expansive storyline.

“It’s a huge world, there’s a lot of people involved, there’s a lot moving in and out with characters and this and that,” he explained. “But my character has been living alone for decades, and so I act with really one person here.” Zahn’s character’s isolation adds a unique dynamic to the show’s intricate plot.

Common, who plays head of security Robert Sims, delved into the complexities of his role. “Sims is experiencing a lot of things that may not even come out all the way yet in Season 2, but there are definitely some questions, at least in the way I approached this season dealing with the rebellion,” he said.

Reflecting on the duality of his character, Common noted, “It’s something being a part of the government [in ‘Silo’] for me as a person. Like, being a part of the people who established society and perpetuating the lies, or maybe some of it is the truth. It’s funny for me to play this character, but I love it.”

The panel, hosted by Variety, highlighted the enthusiasm and dedication of the cast and creators in bringing the intricate world of “Silo” to life. With the promise of more twists and turns, fans eagerly await the return of the series, confident that the second season will deliver even more gripping drama and unexpected revelations.
