Redmi has officially announced the launch date for its highly anticipated Turbo 5 series smartphones in China.
The lineup includes the standard Redmi Turbo 5 and the more powerful Redmi Turbo 5 Max, both of which will be unveiled later this month. Along with confirming the launch timeline, the company has also teased design elements and color options, building excitement among smartphone enthusiasts.
According to a recent Weibo post by Redmi, the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max will debut in China on January 29. The launch event will not be limited to smartphones alone, as the brand is also set to introduce the Redmi Buds 8 Pro and the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Harry Potter Edition, making it a major product showcase for the company.
In terms of design, Redmi has revealed that the Turbo 5 series will feature a CNC-machined metal frame combined with rounded corners for improved ergonomics. The smartphones will sport a fiberglass rear panel, offering a premium look while keeping the device lightweight. Additionally, the devices will come with a dual LED flash setup, further enhancing the overall design appeal.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Max has already been showcased in an eye-catching Sunrise Orange color, alongside another option called Ocean Breeze Blue. These bold color choices suggest that Redmi is targeting users who prefer stylish and standout smartphone designs.
On the performance front, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is expected to be a powerhouse. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, which should deliver flagship-level performance for gaming and multitasking. One of the biggest highlights is its massive 9,000mAh battery, positioning it as one of the largest batteries in its segment. The device will also support 100W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge despite the large battery capacity.
While Redmi has not yet disclosed the full specifications of the standard Turbo 5, more details are expected to surface closer to the launch date.
