Rihanna has officially completed two decades in the music industry, and the global superstar is celebrating the milestone in true style.
On August 29, 2005, the Barbadian singer released her debut album Music of the Sun, marking the beginning of a journey that has since made her one of the most influential names in music, fashion, and culture.
To honor the occasion, the Diamonds hitmaker unveiled the R20 collection, a special limited-edition release featuring a vinyl box set of all eight of her albums, pressed on vinyl for the first time as a complete set.
Turning to Instagram on Friday, the nine-time Grammy Award winner shared a cinematic tribute video, alongside an emotional letter addressed to her fans, her team, and everyone who supported her along the way.
“Twenty years ago, I left my country, my culture, my food, and my family to embark on a journey that started with the release of my very first body of music,” Rihanna reflected. “So many of you were a part of my life and career since the very beginning, and some of you have joined the adventure along the way.”
The Work singer expressed deep gratitude for the lessons learned and the experiences that shaped her career. Concluding her heartfelt note, she thanked those who believed in her during her early days, as well as God. “I thank God, He’s been very generous to me and the Glory belongs to Him!” she wrote.
The R20 release serves as a nostalgic celebration for fans who have been eagerly awaiting her long-promised return to music, reminding the world of her enduring impact.
On the personal front, Rihanna is currently expecting her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple, who share two sons — Rza, 3, and Riot, 2 — revealed the pregnancy earlier this year.
