New follows of major streamers fuel speculation about an upcoming GTA 6 or NoPixel V campaign.
Rockstar Games has sparked speculation among Grand Theft Auto fans after following several prominent streamers and gaming personalities on Instagram, with some fans believing the move could signal a new promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI.
An observant user on the GTA 6 subreddit pointed out that six of Rockstar Games’ 10 most recent Instagram follows are influential streamers and content creators.
The timing has attracted particular attention following Rockstar’s announcement of Grand Theft Auto VI – An Extended Look on August 6. The upcoming footage will reportedly be available exclusively on Netflix for its first six hours before being released more widely.
Rockstar follows major gaming streamers
The six streamers reportedly followed by Rockstar are Jynxzi, MoistCr1TiKaL, Valkyrae, Fuslie, TimTheTatman and Canadian streamer xQc.
The selection has led fans to speculate that Rockstar could be preparing an influencer-focused marketing campaign for GTA 6, potentially involving reaction videos, livestreams or other promotional content surrounding the upcoming game.
Valkyrae, Fuslie and xQc have strong connections to the GTA role-playing community, while MoistCr1TiKaL has recently been streaming older GTA titles. Jynxzi has also featured GTA 5 during his streams.
TimTheTatman, meanwhile, is one of North America’s most recognisable gaming creators, despite having no particularly strong direct connection to GTA.
GTA 6 or NoPixel V?
Rockstar’s recent Instagram follows extend beyond streamers. The company has also followed football star Erling Haaland, actor Danny Dyer, British duo Prospa and the official account for the film Marching Powder.
Some of these connections have sparked additional speculation, although their relationship with GTA 6 remains unclear.
Haaland has previously listed GTA 5 among his favourite games, while Dyer provided the voice of Kent Paul in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and San Andreas.
Some fans believe the recent follows could instead be connected to NoPixel V, the upcoming fifth version of the popular GTA 5 role-playing server. Valkyrae, Fuslie and xQc have all previously been involved with the NoPixel platform, leading to speculation that Rockstar could be working with them to promote the new iteration.
Rockstar has not confirmed the campaign
The GTA community remains divided over the meaning behind Rockstar’s recent follows.
Some fans expect an influencer campaign or reaction content tied to GTA 6, while others believe the activity could be related to NoPixel V. There is also scepticism among some users about influencer marketing and the choice of creators.
For now, Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed that the Instagram follows are connected to either Grand Theft Auto VI or NoPixel V.
With GTA 6’s promotional campaign entering a potentially important phase, however, fans are watching Rockstar’s social media activity closely for further clues.
