Ronaldo Praises Saudi Pro League, Dismisses Competing Football Leagues

Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed admiration for the Saudi Pro League, stating that it surpasses the MLS and will soon outshine prominent leagues like the Dutch and Spanish leagues.

He also criticized the declining quality of European football, declaring the Premier League as the sole valid league.

Ronaldo made these remarks in an interview with Portuguese publication A Bola, following his team Al Nassr’s 5-0 defeat against Celta Vigo in the Algarve Trophy pre-season tournament held in Faro, Portugal.

In his own words, the 38-year-old Portuguese superstar asserted, “The Spanish league lost its level, the Portuguese one is not a top one, the German has also lost a lot of quality. The USA? No, the Saudi championship is much better than the USA.”

Ronaldo further confirmed that he has no intentions of returning to play for any European club, emphasizing his role in paving the way for other players to join the Saudi league.

Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr has triggered an influx of renowned players into the Saudi League. Notable names such as Karim Benzema, Roberto Firmino, and Kalidou Koulibaly have been attracted to the league in recent years.
