Hollywood icon Nicole Kidman is reportedly receiving emotional support from fellow actor Russell Crowe following her split from country star Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage.
According to Closer Magazine, the Oscar-winning actress has been leaning on Crowe, who has himself experienced a long-term divorce, giving him a unique perspective to empathize with Kidman during this difficult time.
A source told the outlet, “Russell has been through his own heartbreaking divorce after twenty-some years of marriage, so he can empathize with Nicole in a way that not everyone in her world can.”
The insider added, “He has a tough exterior but he’s a real softie underneath. Ever since Nicole told him what was going on, he’s been on the phone to her nearly every day just to check in and lift her spirits. They even managed to meet up for coffee not that long ago.”
Sources say Kidman is “putting on a brave face” publicly, while friends and colleagues, including Crowe, are stepping in to provide emotional support. Crowe has reportedly been reminding Kidman “what a catch she is and what a fool Keith is for letting her go.”
The source continued, “No doubt it’s good for her confidence and she really needs a boost right now. Her whole world has been shaken by this. When she’s having a low moment, she can talk to him, get a pep talk, and come out feeling ready to keep going.”
Crowe’s advice is particularly valued by Kidman because he is “so authentic, he never sugarcoats things either; he tells it like it is, which is something Nicole appreciates so much.”
