Winning the toss, South African skipper opted to bat first, and the decision paid off with a total of 183 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The highlight of the innings was David Miller’s explosive knock of 82 runs off just 40 balls, showcasing his signature power-hitting. Miller’s innings included several towering sixes and quick boundaries, giving South Africa the much-needed momentum in the middle overs.
George Linde provided valuable support with a breezy 48 off just 24 balls. The duo revived South Africa’s innings after an early collapse, as the hosts were reeling at 28 for 3 in the initial stages. Their partnership proved crucial in setting a competitive total against a strong Pakistani bowling attack.
On the bowling front, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi was the standout performer.
