Sadie Sink shares advice given to young ‘Stranger Things’ star as series nears finale

Los Angeles — Sadie Sink has opened up about the guidance she offered to her younger Stranger Things co-star, Nell Fisher, as the globally popular Netflix series heads toward its highly anticipated finale.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actress reflected on helping prepare Fisher — who portrays Holly Wheeler — for the increased attention that comes with taking on a larger role in one of television’s biggest franchises. Sink, who joined the series in season two as fan-favorite Max Mayfield, said she drew inspiration from her own character when offering advice.

“I think Max gives such good advice to Holly at the end of episode six,” Sink explained, referencing a powerful monologue about finding inner strength and embracing the hero within. “That message pours out of Max in an unexpected way.”

Sink went on to praise Fisher’s maturity and confidence, describing the young actress as “self-assured” and “wise beyond her years.” She acknowledged the challenges of joining a global phenomenon at such a young age and said she made a conscious effort to be as supportive as possible.

“It’s a huge show, and she has such a big role this season,” Sink said. “It’s definitely going to change things in her life, just like it did for me and everyone else involved.”

Reflecting on her own early experience on the series, Sink noted that she and her fellow child actors had no one to guide them through the intense spotlight. Being able to offer advice now, she said, felt especially meaningful.

“It felt nice to hopefully offer some guidance or support in what it means to be on Stranger Things as a 14-year-old,” she added.

As the series approaches its final chapter, Sink’s mentorship highlights the close bonds formed behind the scenes of the hit Netflix show.
