Samsung is expanding language support across Galaxy AI and Bixby, adding Malay, Hungarian, Polish, Thai and Vietnamese to selected features to improve translation, transcription and summarisation for more users.
Samsung has announced a new round of language expansions for its Galaxy AI features and Bixby assistant, with the updates beginning on Tuesday.
The rollout will initially focus on tools that help users translate conversations, summarise information and transcribe content. According to Samsung, several Galaxy AI features, including Call Assist, Interpreter, Note Assist and Transcript Assist, will gain support for Malay and Hungarian.
Galaxy AI Expands Language Support
The addition of Malay and Hungarian will bring the total number of languages supported by Live Translate to 24. The feature allows users to translate conversations across supported languages.
Samsung is also expanding language availability for Now Nudge, which will gain support for eight additional languages. The update will bring the feature’s total supported languages to 24.
The changes are intended to make Samsung’s AI-powered tools accessible to a wider range of users, particularly those who rely on translation and transcription features for everyday communication and productivity.
Bixby Adds Three Languages
Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant is also receiving an expansion, adding Polish, Thai and Vietnamese. With these additions, Bixby will support a total of 12 languages.
The expansion gives more users access to the assistant in their preferred languages, broadening its availability across Samsung’s device ecosystem.
Rollout Begins This Week
Samsung confirmed that the new Bixby languages are available starting Tuesday. Support for the updated Galaxy AI features, however, will roll out over the coming weeks.
The company did not specify an exact completion date for the Galaxy AI rollout. Availability may therefore depend on the timing of the update for individual features and supported devices.
The latest changes form part of Samsung’s ongoing effort to expand the reach of its AI services by adding more languages to its translation, transcription and digital assistant tools.
