Apple opens iPhone Duo pre-order preparations ahead of Friday launch

Apple has activated its Get Ready service for the iPhone Duo, allowing customers to configure their foldable smartphone purchases ahead of pre-orders opening on October 16.

Apple has made its Get Ready service available for the iPhone Duo, its first foldable smartphone, ahead of pre-orders opening this Friday, October 16.

Unveiled at the company’s September launch event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the iPhone Duo is scheduled to begin shipping on October 23, exactly one week after pre-orders start.

With initial supplies expected to be limited, Apple’s Get Ready service allows prospective buyers to prepare their orders in advance, potentially making the checkout process quicker when pre-orders go live.

How Apple’s Get Ready Service Works

Customers can use Get Ready to select their preferred iPhone Duo colour and storage capacity before placing an order. The service also allows them to choose their carrier status and add accessories.

Buyers can further select an AppleCare+ plan, arrange a trade-in, enter payment details and set their shipping and billing addresses.

Once pre-orders open, customers will only need to review their prepared selections and tap the “Pre-order” button to submit their purchase.

Pre-Orders Open at 8am ET

Apple is scheduled to begin accepting iPhone Duo pre-orders on October 16 at 5am Pacific Time and 8am Eastern Time.

Preparing an order beforehand could help customers complete the process more quickly, although it does not guarantee a device if demand exceeds available stock.

The iPhone Duo is expected to launch in limited quantities initially, making early preparation particularly relevant for customers hoping to secure one of the first units.

Where to Prepare an Order

Apple’s Get Ready service is available through the company’s official website and the Apple Store app. Customers can configure their purchase using Apple’s iPhone Duo shopping page.

Shipping is scheduled to begin on October 23, with the initial availability potentially constrained by supply.
