The long-awaited One UI 8 update has finally started rolling out for Samsung Galaxy devices, beginning with the Galaxy S25 series.

Owners of these models should soon receive an OTA (over-the-air) update notification. However, Samsung has confirmed that the rollout will be staged, meaning it will not arrive at the same time for every market or device.

Alongside the S25, Samsung has released a comprehensive list of devices that will receive the update later this year. Eligible models include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and several mid-range Galaxy A-series smartphones such as the A56 5G, A36 5G, and A54 5G. Notably, not every new feature of One UI 8 will be available on all devices or in all regions.

Samsung describes One UI 8 as a smarter and more adaptive interface, with features designed to anticipate user needs. The new Now Bar displays real-time app activity, particularly for media playback, while the Now Brief delivers personalized daily updates, including traffic alerts, reminders, and content suggestions based on user habits. Integration with Google’s Gemini Live and Circle to Search further strengthens Samsung’s AI ecosystem.

Security and privacy remain a major focus. One UI 8 introduces Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), which isolates apps in secure sandboxes to safeguard sensitive data. The Knox Matrix feature automatically signs out potentially compromised devices from a user’s Samsung account, providing an additional layer of protection.

For foldable devices, Samsung has optimized the update with features like AI Results View, which allows AI-generated results to be displayed in Floating View or Split View. Users can easily drag and drop AI-generated text and images into other apps, making multitasking more seamless.

Lastly, Samsung has added a fresh design touch with a dynamic clock style that adapts to the wallpaper, wrapping around contours like objects or faces for a personalized aesthetic.

With One UI 8, Samsung aims to deliver a balance of AI innovation, enhanced security, and improved user experience across its ecosystem of smartphones and tablets.
